Its all about the timing.
This issue goes way back for me way back in my military school days. We use to have this torturous event called the change parade where our seniors would gather the whole batch and get us to change into different uniform in the space of 3 mins. At the word go the clock begins, we would run our ass of like as if a wild boar is chasing us and take off piece by piece of our clothing and change to a new one before the three minutes is up. Those who are let are separated from the group and are given much severe punishments and honestly I dont feel like talking about the details. Cut short, sweaty, vomit, bruise and filthy good clothes.
Sothats basically my background of keeping time in check but I do wonder how comedians pick up on timing. For some who dont know, timing is everything for them unless you look forward to having an awkward silence even worst shit thrown on ur face and even worst literally shit. My 'muqadimmah' may have been a bit long but hey its my head space and trying to paint you a nice picture. So I've been reading lately about the price hike in our beloved country Malaysia. Dont worry, its even felt here in New Zealand though the hype is probably not as big. I can give you another long story why it isn't so much of a big deal to the so called 'civilled' but I'll be mocking ur inteligence if I do.
So yeah, the government has increase the petrol price at home and of course people are pissed off. Bottom line is ¾ of the people cant afford it and yes thats is just based on my shallow assumption. All the argument that u have heard in regards to this matter are most probably true and the only thing I want to elaborate more is TIMING. So yeah I spare my time watching youtube and iv been waiting patiently for a Malaysian to 'buat kerja' by uploading the debate between PR and BN about the price hike. If im not mistake its Mr. Salehuddin and Mr. Shahril on RTM with 3 other members who are equally important. Its nice to see the government trying out the live debate thing on TV and its even cooler when they try to test ur intelligence. I dont want to talk about whats been spoken but I do want to capture one word the dude from agenda daily was saying, “Why now?” or if he's an UMNO man it'll be “why now la Datuk?”. Note that im pointing out how a lot of UMNO followers are suck ups. Ok back to the actual “why now?”. So this guy is complaining about the timing as in why not get rid of the subsidy a year ago when petrol prices had started to go up. Fair enough question but whats done is done, because that was a year ago. People can get a diploma in a space of 1 ½ years so you can guess how much research a economist can make with the same amount of time. My argument is if you have to spill the joke for goodness sake time it man! To lay a smack down, you gotta toss him around the ring first, do a low blow, get the bitch outside of the ring to distract ur opponent then u lay a smack down. Ni baru peluk sikit, boom smack down. WWE wont be where they are now if wrestling is like that. Same goes for the Flip Flopper Pak Lah, a day or to ago u say it will in a few months 24-48 hours later u say its already up and even worst its a big smack in the face. Salehuddin made a good point this crisis need more than just the 'jemaah menteri' to decide since this issue is so delicate to the malaysian ppl and economy.
Im sure you've heard this over and over by im gonna repeat just a bit that we've been so used to it and spoilt and mind u that UMNO wanted to be the boss that spoils us(mainly Malays) now u want to blame us that we're spoilt. Yes I personally believe and agree that its about time we stand with our own to feet but from my observation as a 'Y generation' you've not done much to fulfil the soul. I do not want to dismiss the fact that 5 states was an evidence that there is an awaking amongst Malaysians. You've done nothing by satisfy our lust for things which in the end most Malaysian still fail to know how to use or even maintain. Its built nothing but a hypocrite Malaysia with the towers and what not and this exactly fits the description 'dont judge a book by its cover'. So yes this is the issue and fix this first by preparing people and since this are trialling times for everyone in the world do it in a fast and thorough mode.
Ok I'm not one who wants to end up an old had that bitches and moans about every single problem without any solution. You Mr. Syahril have kindly acknowledge that constructive opinion helps. Well here's mine. I know we need to prepare for the future and oil is running out. We need to sustain ourselves in the very near future and we need money to do this. I also know about revenue bu I do know there is profit and it was constant for along time and it manage to built a lot of sky scrappers. Though I have my opinion about them but what has become shall stay. Now, you mention about the future, my impression forom the BN is always things. I say enough. Focus and I repeat FOCUS on the soul. Food for the soul is knowledge. We have enough toys. Do and effective campaign of the fuel crisis and educate ppl what needs to happen before it too late. Give them time. Spill out the truth even if its ugly thats how my mom used to do it and she still does it. More Universities as mention by Raja Petra and find a way to effectively reach the senior citizens and bloody educate them as much as you could and as much as they can absorb. No more secrecy because you know its not working now that everybody loves youtube since they have music with boobs in it and politics. Profit has always been there and before you want ot ask the Rakyat a favor by lessening ur burden prepare them for it. After all this is done then you lay down the joke. Timing man timing. I seriously doubt there is a lot of smart people in the present government and and even if the do I dont think they are heard. If this shit goes on, we'll probably see a new comedian coming September and all of us having the last laugh because we got the joke. Ok its bloody late and I'm signing off. Peace and love
P.S: Here's a method, check out the how the Selangor government is dealing with the water subsidy. If I understand correctly, they've divided the usage into needs and wants which prevents wastage. The application? well whats the use of the smart card that the government issued to us Malaysian. Maybe finally we could get into good use for the first time and if my understanding of technology is adequate, the card should be able to handle it. Ok done.
